Ji Sung (nascido Kwak Tae Geun) é um ator sul-coreano da agência de talentos Namoo Actors desde 2010 até agosto de 2021. Como seus pais eram educadores, esperava-se que ele também ingressasse na profissão. Mas em seu segundo ano, seu pai comprou para ele um videocassete, permitindo-lhe ver 'Rain Man'. A atuação de Dustin Hoffman o impressionou tanto que ele decidiu se tornar ator, apesar das objeções de seu pai. Quando estudava Teatro e Cinema na Universidade de Hanyang em 1999, sua primeira audição foi para o drama do campus, 'KAIST'. O roteirista Song Ji Na, tão impressionado com o jovem iniciante, escreveu um personagem totalmente novo para ele, criando a performance de destaque do ator. Até então, Tae Gun usava o nome artístico 'Choi Ji Sung', mas por sugestão de seu empresário, abandonou o sobrenome 'Choi', tornando-se simplesmente 'Ji Sung'. Sua descoberta foi no drama da SBS 'All in' (2003). Ele se alistou no exército em junho de 2005 e foi dispensado em 6 de junho de 2007. Ji Sung conheceu a atriz Lee Bo Young no set da série de TV Save Last Dance for Me de 2004, e eles confirmaram seu relacionamento em 2007. Eles se casaram em 27 de setembro de 2013. Eles deram as boas-vindas ao primeiro filho, uma filha Kwak Ji Yoo, foi nasceu em 12 de junho de 2015. Seu segundo filho, um filho chamado Kwak Bo Ah, nasceu em 4 de fevereiro de 2019.
